David and I once carried this big plant bowl through the streets of Tijuana—half-laughing, half-struggling, and definitely a little tipsy. We flagged down a cab, wrestled it into the backseat, and lugged it up 100 steps to get it home. It was one of those ridiculous, unforgettable moments that still makes me smile. Later, I planted a tiny orchid about six inches tall in it. And after David passed that same year, I placed some of his ashes here. That was 32 years ago. The orchid still bloomed—bright, stubborn, and full of life until 2017. Just like him.
