Fresh off the plane and barreling across the bridge from JFK, I caught my first glimpse of her—the Statue of Liberty, standing proud in the haze like some silent sentinel of possibility. It hit me with that classic wow moment. Fast forward a few hours, and I’m wandering the city streets, soaking it all in, when I spot this guy: full Lady Liberty get-up, sunglasses, slushy, and a flag like he’s about to start the most epic Fourth of July parade. That’s when it clicked—New York doesn’t just do patriotism; it does it with flair, humor, and a wink. So, I blended those two moments into one image.
