Signal Hill Cherry Ave - California

$100.00

My home for 16 years, Signal Hill, is more than just a neighborhood—it’s a city with a story. Completely surrounded by Long Beach, this small enclave carries a big history. Best known for the oil boom of 1921, it earned its stripes as a true oil town. But long before that, the Puva Indians stood atop this hill, using it as a vantage point to send smoke signals across the land. Once a hub for defense and communication, it remains a place of quiet strength, perched above the buzz of the city below.

My home for 16 years. Signal Hill is a unique city in that it is entirely surrounded by the city of Long Beach. This makes it an enclave, or a territory completely enclosed by another. Signal Hill has a rich and colorful history. Most famous for the discovery of oil in 1921, it is commonly known as an oil town. Just think where I lived -The hill had fortifications and was important for defense and communication for centuries. A long time ago, the Puva Indians used the hilltop to signal other tribes.
