Mercado Central, or Mercat Central, is a public market across from the Llotja de la Seda and the Church of Santos Juanes in downtown Valencia, Spain. It features some of the largest red peppers I have ever seen. Valencia's Central Market's origin dates back to 1839, when it served the same purpose as an open-air market. It met the commercial and social needs of that time.
